Hacklebarney State Park

Hopatcong State Park is only about a half hour away from Morristown. This hidden gem has scenic lakeside views and plenty of activities. The park boasts more than 2500 acres of freshwater and has lots of watersports, including swimming, boating, and fishing.

Hopatcong State Park has other activities, including basketball, cross country skiing in the winter, hunting, and playgrounds. The park’s beautiful scenery and recreational options make it an excellent spot for a day trip.

Washington Rock State Park

Allamuchy Mountain State Park

Located in Allamuchy Township, this state park is approximately 27 miles west of Morristown. The park is home to 14 miles of marked trails perfect for horseback riding, hiking, and mountain biking.

There’s plenty to do at Allamuchy Mountain State Park, including boating and kayaking. There is also excellent trout fishing here, along with picnic facilities, a playground, and a campground.
