When you get that tickle for authentic Italian cuisine, look no further than Morristown, NJ, where you’ll find just what you’re looking for. The city has a plethora of Italian restaurants, so choosing one can be a difficult decision. We thought we’d share some of our favorites with you to get you moving in the right direction.

3 Italian Restaurants Worth the Drive Near Morristown, NJ

1. Millie’s Old World Meatballs & Pizza

Millie’s specializes in wood- and coal-fired pizzas in a modern environment. They don’t serve alcohol, but you can bring your own. We suggest ordering the mozzarella and prosciutto salad or the chargrilled oysters to start off your evening. For pizza, try the spicy marinara, the fresh basil, Millie’s meatball white, the eggplant parmesan, or the meatball vodka parmesan pie. They also make amazing meatballs; order a pot of balls for the table.

If you feel like something other than pizza and meatballs, try a calzone or housemade sandwich. We know you’ll love the food so much that you’ll want to take some home, and that’s why they offer take-home dishes, dressings, and sauces. You can find this establishment at 60 S. St. Please drink responsibly and in moderation, and do not drink and drive.

2. Guerriero’s

Relax inside the cozy dining room or sit outside at the shade-covered tables on the patio when it’s a beautiful day. Family-owned and operated, Guerriero’s prides itself on authentic Italian recipes that go back generations. For an antipasti dish, have the Vongole Oreganata or the Cozze Marechiaro. Main dishes include veal, chicken, pork chops, eggplant, and traditional pasta dishes.

We suggest the penne vodka, the Shrimp Fra Diavolo, the marsala, or the piccata, just to name a few. Bring the family on Sundays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for Grandma’s Dinner. Do you need a catering service for your business meeting or family gathering? Just call Cuerriero’s! Please note that they accept cash only. They are located at 90 S. St.

3. Portofino’s

For more than 30 years, this restaurant has created fine foods that the community raves about. Stop in for lunch and enjoy a Chef’s special, like the spaghetti bolognese, the angel hair Mediterranean, or the rigatoni formaggio. For dinner, try the veal francese, the chicken Portofino, the breaded eggplant, the shrimp scampi, or the bruschetta salmon. But our bets are that you’ll love anything off of the menu here at this fine establishment.

Portofino’s also has a to-go menu and a catering service. Visit them at 29 Mills St.
