Introducing the MINI Clubman
The MINI Clubman dates back to 1969 when it was made by British Leyland, but the closest ancestor to today’s Clubman All4 was the Clubman Estate. This was a small station wagon that had the trademark “barn doors” at the rear for trunk access. Having acquired the MINI Brand in 1994, or “Mini” as it was then, BMW reintroduced the Clubman in 2007 and debuted the Clubman All4 in 2016.
The MINI Clubman was still made in Oxford, England up until February 2024. It’s now leaving the MINI lineup, so there’ll be no 2025 model.
New in 2024
There were no major changes in 2024 other than the cessation of MINI Clubman production and the related MINI Clubman “Final Edition” swan song.
Models and Trim Levels
There are two main MINI Clubman All4 models: the Cooper S Clubman All4 and the John Cooper Works (JCW) Clubman All4. These are both intelligent AWD vehicles, but a FWD Cooper S Clubman also exists. You have a choice of different trim levels within each model. The JCW Clubman All4 “Untold Edition” is the highest trim in the range, but it’s also rare.
Fewer than 100 examples of a third All4 model, named “Final Edition,” entered the US. This integrates the Cooper S engine and “Exclusive” trim. It has special badging, a fancy leather interior, Shimmer Copper detailing inside and out, and eye-catching Shimmer Copper wheels.
Performance
A defining difference between the Cooper S Clubman All4 and the JCW Clubman All4 lies in their engines. The “S” has a capable 2.0L four-cylinder 189 hp engine, while the JCW has a potent 301 hp Valvetronic engine. This propels the car from 0-60 in as little as 4.6 seconds and delivers up to 331 lb-ft of torque. Both All4 models come with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The MINI intelligent AWD system operates as FWD under normal conditions but switches to AWD whenever it detects a loss in traction or a need for enhanced stability and handling.
