3 Fun Spring Activities You Can Drive to Near Morristown, NJ

Spring is in the air, and you can really feel it here in Morristown as we shed goodbye to the cold dark days of the Northeastern winter and say hello to the long sunny days of spring. Every New Jerseyan will be out enjoying the nice weather when it finally comes around, so make sure to be one of them! So you can start getting your list together, here are some spring activities we can recommend near Morristown, NJ. 1. Fosterfields Living Historical Farm Back in the old days, springtime wasn't as much of a time to relax for New Jerseyans as it was a time to get back out to the fields and tend to the animals and plant crops! Of course, it's a blessing that most of us today can see spring as a time to enjoy nature, but nonetheless, it's good to see firsthand what spring used to mean for farmers a hundred years ago. more Take a trip to Fosterfields Living Historical Farm at 73 Kahdena Road to see firsthand how people in Morristown used to live at this incredibly realistic recreated late 19th-century farm. The farm animals will all be out because it's spring, so you and your kids can go for a hay bail ride and enjoy some hands-on gardening while experiencing a bit of spring life as it was in the past. 2. Frelinghuysen Arboretum The Frelinghuysen Arboretum at 353 East Hannover Avenue is one of the most picturesque green spaces here in Morristown, and we think it's an absolute must-see in spring! The flowers will be in full bloom, birds and insects will be chirping, and the green grass and trees will be colored like in a storybook. Come here for a weekend with a blanket and some food and join the many local families picnicking on the Great Lawn, or just simply take a stroll through the fields and woodlands and take in the smells of spring air. 3. Morris Canal Greenway The Morris Canal Greenway is a 111-mile walking and cycling path cutting across northern New Jersey from Pennsylvania to New York City, traveling straight through Morristown. Spring is an excellent time to walk or cycle a bit of the path, which cuts through forests and fields where you'll find spring nature at its finest. Constructed along the former Morris Canal, the full greenway is unfortunately not yet complete, though there are signposted detours connecting the open sections. One great open section connects Morristown to nearby Woodland Park and makes for an excellent short afternoon ride. When you're done enjoying the sights and smells of a beautiful spring day trip, there's no better way to finish off your day with a drive home in a comfy car with an open sunroof. Luckily there are options for that here in Morristown, so drive by MINI of Morristown and grab yourself a car with a nice sunroof like the 2023 MINI Hardtop 2 Door!
